Our professional landscaping services can create the landscape you have always dreamed about. We can accommodate your space, budget and timeframe. Our work is created with you and your family in mind. From shrub beds to patios, our layouts will look flawless and create a relaxing and enjoyable outdoor living area, just for you. We will create a custom layout that will cover all of your specific needs.
INITIAL MEETING
All landscapes begin with evaluating your outdoor areas and determining the most beneficial and striking layouts. From perennials to retaining walls, all features are carefully planned and placed to work with your needs.
Our first meeting at your site will begin by establishing evaluating the site. Measurements, digital photos and environmental conditions are noted. A "wish" list is made, determining your needs and developing a plan to meet your budget with a wide selection of the finest building materials for your application. We will ask a series of questions to determine your personal style, review a portfolio of our work and scan material distributor’s brochures to see what materials you favor.
DESIGN PHASE
Once we have gathered your information, we can discuss the design layout process and determine the scope of the plan. It is beneficial to begin with a full master plan so that current and future projects maintain a cohesive look upon total completion. We can provide previous project addresses that feature items similar to your plan.
Careful attention will be paid to placement of planting material by light requirements, size, and color and texture. Beds will present a tiered or layered look, with smallest plants in the foreground, largest to the rear. Each hand-selected plant is prepared with care to enhance your natural landscape and the look and feel of your home. We provide a wide range of bedding materials from hardwood mulches to stone fillers.
Matt’s can create a plant based sound or visual barrier by incorporating various fencing methods as well as retaining walls and other hardscape features.
CONSTRUCTION
After you receive the layout with a pricing schedule outlined for each target area, we can then assist with prioritizing your initial areas to begin construction. If your plan includes an arbor, outdoor kitchen, or fire pit, Matt’s Services can include piping gas and water lines for those features.
MAINTENANCE
By providing our clients with a comprehensive maintenance plan, ensures the finished landscape will thrive.
MULCHING
Mulching around landscape plants helps retain soil moisture, prevent erosion, helps reduce weed growth and adds beauty. Here are some mulching tips:
- Mulch to a total depth of 1 1/2 to 3 inches.
- Do not add a heavy layer of mulch to beds that already have a layer as “over mulching” creates plant decline and problems. Keep heavy mulch away from tree trunks and the base of plants, and away from the siding of your house.
- If the mulch becomes compact and hard, break it apart; water and air will not be able to penetrate the mulch leading to plant decline. This usually happens late summer and early fall.
- Avoid dyed mulches, a basic, good quality hardwood mulch is best, since it will de-compose and add nutrients to the soil over time.
- We recommend a light mulching with a good quality organic mulch once a year or every other year.
SHRUB & TREE PRUNING
Annual pruning of your shrubs and ornamental trees is essential to control growth. Improve plant health and increase the value, beauty and life of your landscape. Our experienced staff will prune your shrubs and small trees, achieving the desired effect without harming the plants.
We also offer tree removal services.
LAWNS & REPAIR
Matt’s Services L.L.C. offers "final grade" services prior to putting in a lawn, and can also seed or sod residential lots as well.
